My Lord and Savior, Jesus, You,
my God and King, who sees us, You,
Whose blood atonement frees us, You
come take me, as this pleases You.
I feel so deep an ache in me.
My God, have You forsaken me?
Come, Jesus, and awaken me,
because Your love has taken me.
Not bread of barley, corn, or wheat,
but of this little book, I eat,
my belly bitter, yet so sweet,
this lasting supper at Your feet.
Ah, Lord and Savior, Jesus, You,
O God and King, who sees us, You,
Whose blood atonement frees us, You
come take me, as this pleases You.
And find, I pray, among those souls
yon seals and trumpets and the bowls
me written in the Living Scroll
after I hear the final tolls.
And find, I bid, when You will look
for names forgiven, not forsook,
within that last and Living Book,
I be Belov'ed, whom You took.
My Love and Lover, Jesus, You,
Who calls me Your Belov'ed, You,
I pray, come take me unto You.
Come take and make me more like You.
