Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

The Other Poems
I Think of You

I think you are a loving lass
who loves her Lord with all her heart,
and in His will, what comes to pass,
I pray I also have a part.
You love your Lord and others, too,
and love the life God gives to you.

I think you are a bless'ed saint
who wants to be just like her Lord,
and for that reason, I acquaint
myself with you and your reward.
And what reward could it be of
except of Jesus and His love?

I think you want no more than love
and nothing less than love to give,
who sets her heart on things above,
and of all men on earth, forgives.
For though I pray for you, I sin,
for I am flesh like other men.

I think your eyes are on His will
so you may please your Lord alone.
You boldly go to Him until
your heart's desires are His own.
Then when you pray whom you may love,
the earth is yours and heaven above.

I think I want to be for you
a servant, brother, and a friend
so any love I give is true,
true love of Christ, that shall not end.
And in God's promise is this peace,
that God shall let our love increase.

I think of you and cannot hide
the seed of love already sown,
which rooted, grounded, edified
shall bring forth loving fruit when grown.
For when God's love has been our root,
the love of God shall be our fruit.

I think I love you. 'Tis a thought
I think at length, in depth of heart,
and God convict me if I ought
love you as husband, my sweetheart.
But if God's will is not that end,
I love you still. You are my friend.
