Your tears have grieved my mortal flesh, yet immortality
has beckoned me to heed the call upon the mission field.
The Lord has charged my soul, my love. I follow destiny,
and neither tears nor love for you shall cause my soul to yield.
For God has strengthened me to fight for deathless victory
till Death is swallowed man for man, His glory full revealed.
I am the vassal of the Lord. I owe Him loyalty.
Hence, wonder not why I must run to battle at the fore,
to bear my faith in Christ my shield, to wield the Word my sword.
For always I campaign to win Him glory through the war,
to more than conquer land to land in exploits for the Lord.
But should you doubt my faith to you, my wife whom I adore,
then lift your voice in thanksgiving! Lift praises heavenward!
I could not love you, dear, so much, loved I not Jesus more!
