I have a friend who lives across the sea.
Sometimes, despite the distance to her land,
I wish I could reach out, and take her hand,
and pray with her, and comfort her, and be
a friend to stand beside her, with her, free
to love her as a friend. She understands.
But she lives in her land while here I stand
and pray for her as she prays there for me.
I stand beneath the sun, and you, the stars,
but where else are you? In my heart is where.
For though I cannot stand beside you, far
away from you, the Lord will find you there.
He knows no boundaries, and knows you are
upon my heart, because He hears my prayer.
