Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Worship
Crying in the Wilderness

I walk alone along the earthen way
unpaved in public parks, and see no face,
and leave no footprint people care to trace
beyond their busyness, where prayer is prey,
but in this sylvan solitude, I pray,
my private nature in this public place,
till Jesus fills with fullness empty space
which cries out for Him in these times away.
My steps are ordered in the fallen dust,
and wherever my foot falls, holiness
attends to quieting unspoken lust
and filling with the Spirit loneliness
and with the Word of God this man who must
be crying in this city's wilderness.
