I wish I had another gift to give,
presented to my friend when we next meet
to speak our sentiments, embrace and eat.
But I shall pray for her and further strive
to thank the Lord because she is alive
so we may have another day to greet
each other in the Lord, our love complete,
and my small oversight she might forgive.
For God has given me to oversee
the love and friendship of His little one,
and any gift I give could hardly be
compared to all that Jesus Christ has done.
I thank You for what You have given me,
Your daughter's friendship and Your only Son.
