Who sins against me, is my enemy,
but vengeance is the Lord's. He will repay,
and death will be the wages in that day.
But on my enemy, I want to see
the goodness of the Lord God gave to me,
which led me to repentance, now to pray
he will repent of every evil way
and follow Jesus Christ in liberty.
I have rewarded evil with this good,
that he was hungry, thirsty, naked, too,
and given shelter, clothing, drink, and food.
Some think these gifts too many; some, too few.
I pray my enemy has understood
that life is offered him when death is due.
