I heard the loving voice of Jesus call,
and when I stopped to listen, then I turned
and saw the narrow gate for which I yearned,
and when I entered in, I was enthralled,
but when so many people were appalled
I heard a call that they had not discerned
and held His gift of grace I had not earned,
I wondered. Had I heard Christ's call at all?
Still, I have entered in that narrow gate
and walk His will and ways, that narrow path,
and though some speak of me judgment and hate,
I count that cost and fear the aftermath
of fearing man...so fearful is that fate
of living, lost, and dying in His wrath.
