I offer Thee an ephah I have gleaned,
for from the Word of God interpreted
was set before me this unleavened bread,
the preaching of the Cross; and as I leaned
upon the breast of Thee, who intervened,
I bid Thee wash me. Wash my hands and head.
Thou hast, a servant, washed my feet instead
and shed Thy blood so that I could be cleaned.
My ephah is a sacrifice so small,
but broken as the bread to represent
Thy Body given for me, this is all
I have to offer Thee in covenant
together with the wine as I recall
Thy mercy, shone upon Thy supplicant.
