Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Courtship
Here Am I

O Lord, I know my wife is out there. Where?
And does she pray for me? For I am here.
Is it my unbelief? Is it my fear
that hinders You from giving me to her?
Have I been grieving You when I should stir
the gifts already given me, and hear
Your Word and Spirit? Is she pressing near
into Your presence? Will I find her there?
I want to find her there, and I find, too,
that when I seek Your face, not hers, I die
each day, each way, because I walk into
the narrow gate, Your presence, and Your eye.
Whom will You send, and who will go for You?
I wait for You to send her. Here am I.
