How I have likened you to all of these:
your eyes, two stars that I have wished upon;
your smile, the radiance of crescent moon;
your voice, how like the sparrows in the trees,
each one our Lord above both hears and sees;
and when I meet you once again, and soon,
how you are like the rising of the sun.
Yes, I have likened you to all of these.
And I have liked these well enough to love
what these have meant to me in liking you,
and such may come to mind when thinking of
how much your likeness far surpasses, too,
what God our Father has created from above.
You are His likeness; therefore, I love you.
