Though I shall be unhappy when you leave;
though I shall miss you, shall it be so bad?
Not so, for I am comforted and glad
to know you may lead others to believe.
That hope and testimony shall relieve
my soul whenever I am feeling sad;
whenever I recall the times we had
and pray to thank the Lord instead of grieve.
I think of everyone who may convert
and put their trust in Jesus from the start,
and then that consolation shall avert
the sorrows I shall feel after we part.
For I shall miss you just enough to hurt,
but not so much so as to break my heart.
