Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Courtship
I Lift a Name in Prayer

I lift a name I do not know in prayer
and intercede, for both our sakes', God's will,
to keep us in the love of God. But still,
I wish that you were here or I was there.
Such wants can be a thorn, a dart, a snare
should I lust after you and yours until
my thought of you the Lord cannot fulfill
because I fill my heart with worldly care.
God's will, my unseen love, and faith a feat
none other but the Lord can intercede
till in His name and with a kiss we greet,
a holy kiss, one absent lust or greed.
I pray such faith God measures till we meet,
and till we meet, God willing, and God speed!
