Love has awaited us. Well did we wait,
though we so many times wanted to meet,
our love infatuate and incomplete,
yet now our love so lovingly would hate
to have loved earlier, to have loved late,
to have loved just a little less, and cheat
ourselves from longer lasting love we greet
at last and evermore now that we mate.
A prayer about our future then is past.
God's grace and goodness separated us,
yet ever everlasting love could last,
let us leave all who loved and hated us.
No longer slow our love. No longer fast.
Now let us love. Love has awaited us.
