Your Son prepares my mansion, but give grace
so I may gather stones and chop the wood
to build a house and fill its walls with good,
where I may hold my wife in my embrace
and close my closet door to seek Your face,
to pray eternal habitations would
await the people of my neighborhood
and everyone beyond my dwellingplace.
The mansion which the Son of God prepares
a father, whose own Father loves to hear
a mother's lullaby and children's prayers,
is better than the mansions men revere,
and so I pray my visitors leave heirs
because the son of peace is dwelling here.
