Bring Forth Much Fruit

This is the gift that I have coveted,
that I may be a vessel like the veins
which coursed His blood into His heart again,
whose broken Body has become my Bread,
and me He faithfully has filled and fed,
and victuals crucified, and vintage slain
assuage in me the sorrows of those stains.
How precious is the blood that Jesus shed.
Is this enough? one flagon of a wine
no earthly king would lift up in a toast,
a few drops dripped on lips of those who dine,
partaking of a parched and parted host?
Bring forth much fruit, abiding in the Vine
and overflowing with the Holy Ghost.
