Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Romance
You Are My Dove

You are my dove, and wings and feathers of
your little body mean to me much more
than any worldly wealth, for I am poor.
Yet God in wisdom foreordained above
the poor man's sacrifice to be the dove.
And now I know how He had known before
how much I want to love you and implore
you to accept this sacrifice of love.
You are my dove. Although I am not rich,
this nest we share is hidden in the Rock,
and every cleft thereof and every niche
are filled with good, and prayers of faith unlock
the storehouses of heaven for our love, of which
our songs each morning ask and seek and knock.
