I Love Our Friendship

I love our friendship. When you call me friend,
I love how you so lovingly acquaint
yourself with me when any other saint
might spend the time I spend with you and lend
his ear and hand and shoulder. Yet you spend
your precious time with me without complaint,
complacency, compulsion, or constraint.
I love our friendship. May it never end.
You are my friend in Christ. Our love be led
by Christ alone. No one can take His place.
Christ is our Cornerstone. Christ is our Head,
Christ in our hearts and Christ in our embrace,
Christ as our wine, Christ as our Living Bread.
See Christ in me. I see Christ in your face.
