Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Worship
To Press More Boldly

When shalt thou, O my soul, come fervently
before Christ's very mercy seat and throne,
petitioning Him standing, kneeling, prone
with humbled head, unopened eye, yet see
thy Savior and thy God nigh unto thee,
so very nigh, that thou art not alone?
Thou hast been, art, shalt ever be His own.
When shalt thou rise and walk in liberty?
O Holy Ghost, my Comforter and Paraclete,
come lift my head, and open up my eyes,
and stand this servant on forgiven feet,
that with unceasing prayer then I may rise
to press more boldly for Christ's mercy seat,
His throne, His own, His lovingkindnesses.
