The call has come for me to do my part,
and I consider orders for reserves
my calling, for I volunteered to serve.
So pray for me. My unit soon departs,
and though some have condemned our deadly arts,
still, I will fight this war without reserve
so you may cherish what my life preserves.
No one can steal this honor from my heart.
But if you wonder why my life and limb
are risked in distant service of the sword,
then lift up with your prayer a psalm and hymn
because my soul's salvation is assured.
Though I may die for you, I live for Him.
I gave my life already - to the Lord.
