The woman whom my spirit has beheld
my fleshly eyes are longing to behold
because my flesh in weakness longs to hold
a fleshly woman longing to be held.
But in my spirit, I am not compelled
to find that woman, for I am consoled
to let the Shepherd lead her from the fold
since no good thing from us shall be withheld.
I wait on God. Sufficient is His grace
because when I am weak, then He is strong.
I do not seek for hers, but for God's face,
for He shall lead her forth before too long,
and I shall ever joy in her embrace,
to whom my eyes and body both belong.
