Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Friendship
This One Seems So Dim

I brushed the dust off of your picture frame
and thought, one day, we shall return to dust,
no more indulging any fleshly lust.
I have one better picture. Jesus came
so we by faith no longer are the same.
Should I believe this about you? I must
because I know, deep down, you deeply trust
in Him. You are believing in His Name.
Could I think this of any other lass?
Of course, for many others trust in Him.
But this is your picture. It shall not last,
and though it may seem such a little whim,
this is the shadow of a better glass,
and one so bright that this one seems so dim.
