Thinking of You

I think about you when I first awake
and think about you when I fall asleep
and think about you when I laugh and weep
and think about you when I dance and ache.
But what I think, do I think for your sake?
And whether thoughts are shallow, whether deep,
do I think what I sow, that shall I reap,
whether your heart be blessed, whether it break?
And yet His thoughts are higher than my thought,
and on His thoughts I want to meditate
and reconsider all I have been taught
and wait upon the Lord, that if I wait,
and if I think about you as I ought,
if we then love, then shall our love be great.
