Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Worship
This Door of Wood

A door of wood is in my heart of rock,
so bring unto this door the fattened calf,
and rap upon this wood with rod and staff,
and lay Thy perfumed hand upon this lock,
and call me like a lost one of Thy flock
till angels may rejoice on my behalf.
I weep behind this door. I want to laugh,
so stand before this door, and knock, and knock.
No man could open up this door of wood,
but Thou wert crucified on wood by grace
and bringest me good gifts, for Thou art good,
and givest me the grace to give Thee place
behind this door, before which Thou hast stood
to openly embrace me face to face.
