This word of love I labor to profess
is God's own Word, which shall be manifest
in such a spirit any man could test
as peaceable and full of gentleness.
But you are she whose testing God shall bless
with more discernment, deeper than the rest,
to be my bride and not my wedding guest
when you perceive your husband, nothing less.
This gift is given, not one we must earn,
outshining any other wedding gift
when we have seen each other and discern
we shall be wed. Our voices joined shall lift
a vow prophetic none can overturn
and one the unclean spirits cannot sift.
