She offers up herself in love, and lays
her living sacrifice before her King
before she offers her love offering
of love to any man who gives God praise,
and also praises her, and says he prays
a woman like herself will wear his ring;
that he has waited with longsuffering,
but still will wait for her for many days.
When will she wear a ring and wedding gown?
And will we wed? Say, "Yes," O Lord. Say, "No."
I lift her up in prayer, and lay her down
in sacrifice, although I love her so.
It is a cross I bear. She is a crown
I lay before Your feet until I know.
