If ever lad loved lass, then I love you,
and ever lass loved lad, my love, love me;
for ever God could make twain one, then we;
and ever God could join together two,
what earthly thread and needle cannot do,
the grafting of two branches in one Tree,
then One will join together twain as He
joins us together faithfully and true.
Let no man put asunder what is done,
and let no woman think of us apart,
who are whom God will join together, one,
as God will take from each of us a part
to give us one, our daughter and our son,
as we will be one flesh, one mind, one heart.
