Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Courtship
The Voice of Many Waters

When shall I tell thee how I love thee so?
When I have bid thee come and be my bride,
then thou may'st stand in faith and hope beside
my love, which like so many waters flow,
dispersed abroad, each drop of which I know
shall water grass and tree, be drunk or dried;
and I know also, where our hearts abide,
shall be that place the many waters go.
I feel the groanings in my spirit leap
from whence, too deep to utter, waters pour
into the streets where wisdom bade me weep,
into my heart and out her open door,
to give me rest and my belove'd sleep,
till none bear heavy burdens anymore.
