I love you, O my love, but words are weak
when I love you with love more than I say;
therefore, I pray, my love, and as I pray,
such prayers and supplications will I seek,
preparing love, anointed and unique
and ready to be spoken on that day
and spoken in more excellent a way
than any way I presently can speak.
May I think of Christ's Passion passionate,
His Body broken, pierced by thorn and nail,
Christ crucified and Christ compassionate
when I, my love, lift up your wedding veil
and vow my love, as Christ has fashioned it
into His love for you, which will not fail.
